We Solve the Hard Problems

One of the biggest challenges for any successful currency exchange is throughput – the ability to stay operational during significant high order periods. Many exchanges crash and fail customers. Aquarius’ unique algorithm solves this by deriving greater value with existing market information and uses it to provide the best price and improved liquidity. We can do this, based upon two technology advantages:


Proprietary trade matching technology
We achieve best price discovery by linking every currency pair and its price together using our Aquarius Implied Triangulation algorithm (‘AQIMTRI’). This provides greater liquidity and increased probability of execution.

Fastest Exchange throughput capacity
Our trade matching engine can trade in excess of 100 million trades per second, processing every customer order in time critical fashion (also known as First-In-First-Out or FIFO). This is significantly higher throughput than any exchange today.

Our Name

We believe in the need for an inclusive, global, fair currency exchange. The rise of digital assets has ushered in a new financial paradigm; opened up a new democracy in global finance; a future that transcends national boundaries – but one that still needs linkage to traditional fiat currencies for it to truly gain acceptance, drive adoption and be an asset class in its own right.

We choose Aquarius, meaning the ‘Water Bearer’, as it signifies regeneration, fluidity, liquidity – requirements that are very apt in today’s trading environment.

We created our Brand Mark to represent our ongoing commitment to excellence, a never-ending cycle of adaptation and continuous learning. The Brand Mark also symbolises the ‘Singularity’ of currency pairing that is the core differentiator of our proprietary trading algorithm.

What is the status of your fundraise?

We are currently conducting an initial Seed fundraising round primarily within an institutional investor base and aim to have this complete by October 2019.

When will you launch?

Our first Crypto exchange product will launch in Q4 2019 with a full exchange available later in 2020.

Who do you see as your competitors?

Anybody who supplies an asset trade price is our competitor. That includes the large crypto exchanges plus banks and non-bank liquidity providers in Fiat currencies.

Who will be your initial customers?

Institutional customers first: financial service providers, banks, professional traders, asset managers. Additionally, corporates and SMEs. Plus a large nascent and growing retail base. Probably 75:25 b2b vs b2c split in FY1.

What is your customer acquisition strategy?

We will develop brand awareness initially through content/thought leadership initiatives, supported by targeted press relations, social media & tech community outreach and SEO. We intend to build a qualified customer dataset from which to start a dedicated CRM and product trial programme.

What is your view on regulation?

We aim to be regulated in every jurisdiction in which we operate, starting with the UK and Switzerland. We will not operate outside the regulatory guidelines. We will not onboard any clients without the appropriate AML/KYC checks.
